The Challenge:
To develop an Internet presence and strategy that best represents the CITN brand message to increase existing audience involvement and new audience members world wide.

Our Solution:
Increased existing audience involvement and created mechanisms to attract new audience members in several phases:

Phase One: Audit internal staff members and external target audience to understand and present a focused message. A tag line was developed “Real People, Experiencing the Real God, in the Real World”, that represents the CITN idea and directs the marketing efforts. Using this base information the website was redesigned to grab peoples attention, to invite them to meet CITN through the website and then attend one of the ministries to eventually become a member.

Phase Two: Reengineer the website, improving the site architecture, file architecture and overall usability. This phase also included infusing the site with web-enabled applications that enhance the functionality such as chat rooms, discussions groups, a membership/subscription database, live streaming media, eCommerce capabilities, unified logins and extensive site/content administrative control interface.

Phase Three: Reengineer the Local Area Network to increase speed and efficiency throughout the CITN campus, adding multiple layers of security and redundancy. Added new functionality to the consumer interface of the website by adding a new childrens ministy calendar, new flash elements and an upgraded audio streaming mechanism. Also added extended functionality to administrative website interface by designing and developing a custom accounting and membership application that integrates the online (website) and offline (church store) revenue streams into one package and eliminating the need for three legacy accounting applications.

Future phases include the design and architecture of the Church In The Now “portal” site and a Ministry Extranet that would include a resource center for the CITN worldwide ministries. This site will have the “feel” of the typical Internet portal site but with the CITN message. Features will include news feeds, content and web-enabled tools and applications, an online bible database in 30 languages, personal messaging, digital streaming media, webcasting, and online radio station pertinent not only to CITN members but to anyone who has questions about spirituality, and “Spirit Resource Center”, which would also help develop relationships with other online resource centers to share and collaborate.

The Challenge:
ArvidaTo design, develop, implement, release, and support the company’s intranet. The target user groups were not familiar with using web technologies, except for very casual browsing. This intranet would host the company’s diverse and ever-changing applications and is the primary source for information dissemination.

Our Solution:
Designed and built the company’s intranet from the ground up, utilizing Adobe Photoshop and Visual Interdev to create a common template structure to give each section of the intranet a common look and feel. Developed all navigation and layout schemes as well as security and information flow throughout the site which allowed for the sharing of data for both inter and intra-department functions. Other tools used were MS Visio 2000 for documentation and site flow design, MS Visual Interdev for the development of the core .asp functionality, and Adobe Photoshop for the inital layout and story boards.

Project One:
Intranet

The Challenge:
TauckTo design, develop, implement, release, and support the company’s intranet in less than 7 days. The target user groups were not familiar with using web technologies, except for very casual browsing. Overall business processes had not been defined, so there was no clear answer for how to layout the site and how to present the data. Sharing of data between departments had to be enabled to allow for both department-only material as well as for sharing to the entire company.

Our Solution:
Designed and built the company’s intranet from the ground up, utilizing NCompass 3.1 (Content Management System) to create a stable base structure while allowing the company’s individual departments to control the look/feel/maintenance of their specific pieces of the intranet. Developed all navigation and layout schemes as well as security and information flow throughout the site which allowed for the sharing of data for both inter and intra-department functions. Other tools used were MS Visio 2000 for documentation and site flow design, MS Visual Interdev for the development of the core .asp functionality, and MS Office for content posting.

Project Two:
Tour Director Extranet

The Challenge:
To design a system that would allow for communication and access to the home office from anywhere in the world for the company’s tour directors while on tour. They would need to access news and bulletins that were pertinent to the tour as well as have access to the suppliers that were used while on tour. This system would establish the enterprise architecture to be used to convert all AS400 applications to Windows 2000 applications.

Our Solution:
Designed and developed this 9 layered application to allow the company’s tour directors to have access to current and future tour information for tours they would be conducting. The largest challenge was to provide for when the tour directors were not in a location where they could connect to the net, so we had to also provide for a disconnected application that would allow the tour directors to not only view the information, but make changes to it as necessary, then, when connected again, that data would be synchronized with the live data on the main (online) servers. Security had to be implemented to ensure the integrity of the company’s guest and other proprietary data.

The Challenge:
Convert the existing hard-copy/manual purchase processing to an enterprise-wide web based system (Material Management System) that would be used throughout the Boeing Company worldwide.

Our Solution:
Developed the purchase request and contract processing modules of the system. This enabled any user to submit a purchase request to the system and track it through each step of the process. The request was sent via an email form to a manager to OK the request. Once the request was OK’d by the manager, the request was sent to the contract managers who took this information, solicited vendors, then created an electronic purchase contract that was sent to the specified vendor.

This system was among the first enterprise systems developed and completed using the new Visual Studio/Active Server Pages technologies.

The Challenge:
New York Life/AARPTo quickly build an on-line application for applying for AARP insurance. Product also had to conform to the many rules that were defined by the age, sex, state of residence, and product for which they wished to apply. Daily team status updates/milestone meetings would need to be held in order to ensure that the developing product met the strict rules of the industry and that the technology group at N.Y.L. would fully understand the system before the completed product was turned over to them upon completion.

Our Solution:
Designed and developed an on-line life insurance enrollment form. The enrollment form is utilizes a “wizard” format in order to break down information into logical/understandable chunks. Database access and processing is provided through VB6 COM objects. Front end validation and field sizing, for browser differences provided by JavaScript. Enrollment information that was entered by the user is sent to the COM object where it completes HTML templates with the data based on the product that was selected. Once the template was complete, the template is encrypted using PGP, then sent to the N.Y.L. administrator for processing. The HTML templates had to resemble, almost exactly, to the hard-copy version, so different templates were developed for IE and Netscape because of STYLE interpretations.

Program follows several rules set forth by the insurance industry which is all controlled and implemented from within the COM objects. All coding is heavily documented to conform to very stringent standards to assist in the knowledge transfer for turning over the code to New York Life.

The Challenge:
Implement a flexible enterprise wide PeopleSoft HRMS application for use by a large multi-company food and chemical industry conglomerate. The application must be flexible enough to support the needs of over 25 individual companies while providing a centralized standard for the parent company.

Our Solution:
A phased implementation with a standard functionality to support the parent company requirements. During each phase, new functionality will be added for the individual companies. This is an ongoing project at this time but will eventually support over 85,000 employees.

The Challenge:
This was a consolidation implementation from Oracle HR and Ceridian Payroll to PeopleSoft HRMS utilizing USinternetworking as an Application Service Provider. The client required the documentation of PeopleSoft application security and security process documentation as it related to Nextel’s organizational structure.

Our Solution:
Organization of the PeopleSoft Department Security Tree to match the structure of the internationally distributed organization. The development of detailed documentation of Nextel’s PeopleSoft Security structure and the processes used for ongoing maintenance. Roles and classes were defined for all user levels throughout the Nextel organization.

The Challenge:
To take an existing Flash graphic that resembles Seimens’ phone card cabinets and turn it into a dynamic tool that allows a salesperson or customer to enter the site and custom configure a shelf/cabinet for quote/purchase.

Our Solution:
Developed a “decision tree” solution that would allow the customer to answer 10 questions which would drive the initial/basic configuration to start (create the base configuration and price). Then the user would click within the flash graphic and configure the cards they want in the positions they want (a simple point and click). Once the user completes creating their configuration, formal/printable quotes are created for the user for all configurations they created for a particular project. These quotes are also attached to an email and mailed to the customer and the Siemens administrator.

All prices and components are stored in a SQL Server 2000 database that we designed that would also interface with the company’s SAP data system. The database is designed to allow Siemens to change every bit of information in relation to parts and prices and no changes will be necessary in the code or the Flash interface.

Vertical One

S1 (formerly Vertical One) a leader in developing software solutions for banks, credit unions, retailers, and payment processors.

The Challenge:
Implement a Y2k compliant Human Resource Management system in a distributed government multi-agency environment before the beginning of fiscal year 2000.

Our Solution:
The existing centralized payroll system along with each individual agency’s human resource system was converted to a PeopleSoft HRMS system. Data conversion from multiple system types was required for this implementation. Individual government agency systems ranged from mainframe applications to hand written card files.

This is one of the largest successful PeopleSoft HRMS implementations in the world supporting almost 230,000 government employees and pensioners.

The Challenge:
Help build a publicly-traded company from the ground up by creating value in both tangeable and intangeable technology assets, building a strong technology foundation (infra-structure, website, applications, data center) and then grow the appropriate technical staff to maintain it.

Our Solution:
Over the course of a year formed a technical team of 20 while establishing relationships with key vendors (IBM, Qwest, CommerceQuest, Go2Net, etc.) to provide content, products and services outside the company’s core compentencies. Built a network of websites and applications from the ground up that included a proprietary B2C and B2B commerce system, Live and On-Demand pay-per-view video and audio streaming system, subscription membership services, an affiliate program and a dynamic site and content management system. Additionally, working in tandem with our network partners IBM and Qwest, built a 24x7x365 data center on premesis.
